It is an ancient and honorable tradition to give a gift to the Parish at Christmas. In your Christmas giving, please remember Prince of Peace. Your gift at Christmas is a true gift to the parish. Unlike the Weekly Offertory Collection, your Christmas gift is not taxed by the Archdiocese of Detroit as part of our parish assessment. All through the month of December you can donate to the Christmas Collection - just make sure that you state your gift is for Christmas. As always, thank you for continuing generosity and support for the programs, ministries and services offered here at your parish, Prince of Peace.
END OF YEAR GIVING
There are always so many things going on at the end of the calendar years. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year there is always something to do and someone to see. Many people, however, evaluate their level of charitable giving at the end of the calendar year in light of your blessings and in light of their tax liability. Keep it in mind. Evaluate your level of giving and see how well you have given to God a portion of the blessings he has given you. During this time, remember that your donations to the parish are tax-deductible in light of the U.S. tax laws. We can accept monetary gifts as well as gifts from trusts and stocks.
EFT IN THE NEW YEAR
Why not make life a little easier in the New Year for yourself. Join EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer). Most of us already do some on-line bank-ing and giving to the parish through EFT is no different. It is safe and secure. Simply go our website and the On-Line Giving page will be there. If you have a problem signing up, we can arrange a time with our bookkeeper to sign you up. Simple, convenient and no worries: that is EFT!
P.S. You will still receive envelopes but can simply mark the “EFT” box. It seems that in our catholic culture, people need to see other people putting something in the basket. If you don’t put in your en-velope in the collection basket, somebody else will think they don’t have to either. Until all are signed up for EFT, envelopes will be used as your public witness remains an essential part of our catholic life.
