A Reflection...
Through the reception of the Body and Blood of Christ, the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, we find comfort in good times and difficult times. We are brought a level of connection with Jesus who helps guide us, mend our broken hearts, and strengthen our faith with him. It is important for us to remember what Archbishop Vigneron says so well, " For all Christians, the Church's funeral rites are essential to the life of faith, hope, and charity to which our Father calls us. In these rites, our heavenly Father joins us by the power of his Holy Spirit to the mystery of Christ's death and resurrection, binding us more closely to Christ and to each other in the Communion of Saints." In our Catholic funeral we look to Jesus for Comfort in the Resurrection and it is our hope to share in the heavenly banquet of heaven where we are Baptized as a new eternal child of God.
