Our Lady of Refuge Food Pantry
“On behalf of the Wednesday shopping families at Our Lady of Refuge Food Pantry, I am extending our heartfelt thanks to all of you at Prince of Peace. You are a group of tremendously generous parishioners who have donated a total of 389 pounds of food so far to Our Lady of Refuge Food Pantry since August, 2024! There were also many cleaning items, personal care and paper products included!
Our Lady of Refuge volunteers were amazed to sort and shelve the volume of donations we picked up at your parish! Our shoppers eagerly selected a variety of cans and boxes of food items, as well as, the personal care, paper products and cleaning supplies.
Many thanks, also, to Deacon Perry who helped coordinate this endeavor between our parishes.
We look forward to your continued help to feed families in need at our Food Pantry.

In early summer Prince of Peace Christian service assisted AWPC in outfitting their new facility on Orchard Lake Rd, less than 2 miles from a local abortion provider!
Due to your generosity, we were able to raise $3,300 to purchase new furniture for this important facility.
A special thank you shout out to Fran and Jerry Ashe and Lisa Black for donating their time to help me to assemble new furniture for the medical waiting area and an ultrasound room!

On behalf of the CCRT team I want to thank all of you who so generously contributed to this project.
As of Sunday August 4`, you have donated 12 uniforms, 99 backpacks and $1705 in gift cards! We also received 3 boxes full of school supplies to be given to needy kids. What a blessing you are to the needy schoolchildren of Pontiac!
Due to your generosity many children will be able to begin the new school year with their own brand-new backpacks, supplies and uniforms. Thank you for showing Christ's love to these children and their families.

Supporting Charities who bring JEsus to others
Prince of Peace Parish is sponsoring the following specific projects and inviting parishioners to get involved in the coming months.
Toy collection for Crossroads
As in years past, Prince of Peace will collect toys to be distributed by Crossroads of Detroit. A bin in the gathering space is provided for those wishing to donate toys for children in Detroit.
Sacred Heart Major Seminary - Seminarian Candy CollectionEvery year the seminarians collect candy to distribute to children in the area around the seminary. This is a great way to sew goodwill between seminarians and the residents who live nearby. We have a basket in the gathering space for those who wish to buy a little extra candy that can be given out by the seminarians. Candy will be collected until October 27.
